Bread for Life is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that relies on the generosity of our community to help us fulfill our mission that no one goes hungry in our town. We provide meals served daily in our kitchen, delivered within our senior community and home-bound citizens, and to our children during summer.

At Bread for Life, we believe that a person can regain lost dignity by acquiring work skills and, at the same time, contribute to a larger purpose. We developed two micro social enterprises just for that purpose.

Artists from SoCCA's All Access Art Program decorated aprons, potholders,
and tote bags for use at Bread for Life. This program is provided as part
of a partnership between the library and SoCCA to offer performing art
experiences to people with neurodiversity issues. This was a community
service project to bring smiles to the community. These items will
definitely bring smiles to all of us at Bread for Life.

We are so grateful for the wonderful folks who participated in our community
conversation on Thursday night around the issue of Food Insecurity. Thanks
to our panel participants Steve Madancy, Superintendent of Schools, Nicole
Lefebvre, Food Service Director, and Lisa Reider, Retired Program Director
of DCF. The information presented was enlightening and the book discussion
about Free Lunch was meaningful. We are thankful to the DePaolo Family
Foundation for their sponsorship of this event.
